FOLIAR NUTRITION WITH DR DEEPAK MATHUR

Dr Deepak Mathur, International Technical Manager and program designer introduces Agrichem’s programs of foliar grapevine crop nutrition, grounded in soil biology and physiology.

Grape growers will be shown how foliar nutrition works, and why a well-constructed nutrition program will improve results.

Attendees will learn:

  • How understanding your vine physiology will optimise your vineyard performance.
  • Importance of maintaining healthy soil biology.
  • How a balanced nutrition and bio-stimulant program can minimise stress, pests, and disease pressures on the crop.
  • Tips for getting the best nutrient use efficiency (& ROI) out of applied fertilisers.
  • How to achieve higher yields without impacting wine quality parameters.

This is for vineyard owners, managers, consultants, and decision makers committed to getting the best from their properties.

Dr Deepak Mathur

Plant physiologist and technical expert in global horticulture, greenhouse and row crops production systems, speciality soil health, sustainable plant nutrition, bio stimulants and biofertilizer advisor.

More than 25 years of commercial and technical advisory experience in sustainable plant nutrition application and formulations, plant health and biostimulant products development, regenerative soil systems and speciality biofertiliser industry in Australia and overseas. Deepak delivers highly advance profitable crop production, soil management and sustainable nutrition to agribusinesses, their agronomists, consultants and technical staff. Provides integrated crop, soil and water management training programs to the professionals and growers all over the world with the view to improve production potential and quality of produce for better marketability and returns.
Agriculture is no longer a speculative art in this global cyclic change in climatic conditions and progression in soil degradation to produce more food to feed the world. This warrants specialised training on soil maintenance and restoration, organic matter management, irrigation and efficient nutrition delivery for profitable/sustainable farming systems. It is consistent with rise in customer demand for the safe and high quality horticultural and grain products that are nutritious, presentable and consistent. These deliverables requires more professional and technical approach to nutrition, stress management, soil and plant health care.
There is also a rising demand for bio-fortification of food grain to satisfy RDI of micronutrients in humans especially in the developing countries. All these aspects demand high levels of technical skills to deliver the best outcome.

PRECISION VINEYARD ESTABLISHMENT with Tim Brown

Tim Brown

Tim started his viticulture career in 1990 at the Victorian cool climate organic vineyard, Virgin Hills in the Macedon Ranges and developed his skills and experience over the next ten seasons working with other producers in the Macedon region then at Lark Hill Canberra wine region. In 2000 he was vineyard manager at Rochford in the Yarra Valley for 5 years.

In 2005 joined Bindi as their first viticultural consultant and he still involved at Bindi today. His Viticulture consultancy has given him the opportunity to work with many new producers in diverse wine regions throughout Australia and recently in NZ. Much of this work has been in planning and establishing new vineyards that are all planted at higher density and established exclusively using organic farming principals

Wine travel Since 2008 he has travelled each year on research trips to visit European wine regions (primarily Burgundy) but also including Loire, Champagne, Rhone and Barolo to meet and engage with wine producers, suppliers and viticulture researchers. This travel has helped build knowledge in areas such as high-density planting and best practice viticulture where organic and biological farming principals that are more widely used in Europe and regarded and key to growing quality site expressive wines.
