POLY WELD CERTIFICATION

Simon Earl and Max Blount, water technicians at Cowaramup Agencies’ Pumps and Irrigation division have both recently completed two nationally recognised courses in poly welding to sharpen their skills.

What is poly welding and do you need it?

In a nutshell, polyethylene welding allows PE pipes to be joined and fittings to be fused. Wherever you need poly pipe work done, the team at Cowaramup Agencies can poly weld to specifications.

There are three types of poly welding:

Butt Fusion Welding: A butt welding machine is used to hold, scrape and heat two pipe ends before pressing them together hydraulically and holding them together until the join cools

Electrofusion Welding Electrofusion is a method of joining PE and other plastic pipes using special fittings that have built-in electric heating elements which are used to weld the joint together.

Extrusion Welding is done with a hand tool, known as an Extrusion Welder.
